Ensuring empowerment and self determination regardless of disability, age, gender, race or status
'The mission of Te Roopu Taurima O Manukau is to enhance the health and wellbeing of mokopuna by providing culturally based services and fostering strong, sustained advances in Maori tikanga underlying whakapono, tumanako and aroha.'
Intellectually disabled people within our service are affectionately referred to as mokopuna. We perceive mokopuna as being a reflection of their ancestors.
Tikanga Maori is practiced and infused in everyday operations. Te Reo is utilised wherever possible.
We value whanau support which is continuously encouraged and maintained as part of the mokopuna continuum to wellness and self-empowerment.
